Zoom has changed its terms of use after accusations of AI training on user data

Zoom has updated its terms of use for its services in the wake of the scandal over the company's policy of training AI on user data.

Here's What We Know

There is now a clarification in the terms of use. According to the update, Zoom will not use users' audio, video, or chats to train AI models without their consent.

The company's policy didn't attract attention until it was highlighted in a post on Hacker News. A few days later, Zoom Chief Product Officer Smita Hashim wrote that Zoom is not doing what is described in the terms of use.

She clarified that while the company uses data for some machine learning purposes, "for AI, we do not use users' audio, video or chats without customer consent."
