Google Arts & Culture has learnt how to create postcards with poems generated by artificial intelligence

Google has launched a new tool that allows you to create artificial intelligence-generated poem postcards based on a piece of artwork and a chosen theme.

Here's What We Know

The tool works on the Google Arts & Culture website and app. Users can choose from different types of poems, including sonnet, limerick, ode, elegy and haiku. The AI determines the content of a future piece depending on the theme, also on the painting that is featured on the postcard.

Among the works that can be used are The Great Wave off Kanagawa, The Scream, The Starry Night, and many others.

Google claims that the poems are created using the PaLM 2 large language model, which the company is launching in early 2023.

For now, the updated Arts & Culture app is only available on Android. A launch on iOS is planned for the near future.

The addition of verse cards is part of a larger reorganisation of the Arts & Culture app and the introduction of generative AI features into other Google services like Docs and Sheets.
