Yahoo Mail unveiled an AI assistant for writing emails and finding gift coupons in newsletters

Yahoo's mail service has added new features based on generative artificial intelligence, built using Google's Cloud AI platform.

One of the new features is Shopping Saver. It uses AI to find gift cards, discount coupons and shop bonuses that are hidden in emails. The technology can also help you write a message to use those savings even after you've made a purchase.

Another feature based on generative AI is improved search. Users can ask questions to find old emails using natural language prompts rather than keywords.

The email service also introduced a message writing assistant. It prompts users to choose the appropriate tone of a letter and also generates a summary of correspondence with the most important information.

Previously, AI features were available only for iOS users. Now they work in web browsers as well.
