Meta has provided an option to opt out of using personal data to train artificial intelligence models
Meta has authorised users to opt out of having their data used for artificial intelligence training by third parties.
Here's What We Know
On Facebook's website, users can fill out a "Generative AI Data Subject Rights" form. This will allow them to access, download, correct or delete any personal information used for generative AI.
It is also possible to restrict the processing of personal data for training AI models. To do so, the form requires you to provide your first name, last name, place of residence and email address.
The company says the option allows you to prohibit the use of personal data that may have been obtained from third parties for model training. With Meta likely still able to use information that users leave on Facebook and Instagram platforms.
Meta's generative AI policy is to train models on publicly available data from the internet, licence data, and information from the company's products and services. Sometimes these datasets may contain personal data.
