Amazon has unveiled new tools for finding products on mobile devices, including image search and enhanced augmented reality (AR).
Here's What We Know
Multimodal search allows you to take a picture of a product and add text to the query to narrow down the results. For example, if a user is looking for a refrigerator part, they can take a picture of it and specify the model.
The AR feature that shows furniture and furnishings now works with smaller items like lamps, toasters and coffee makers. The tool also lets you move items from one surface to another.
The Find-on-Amazon tool is similar to Google and Pinterest's solutions, allowing you to search for items based on a photo from the web, social media or email. It will allow you to find visually similar items even if the user does not know its name.
Some of the features introduced are already available to users.
