TikTok has launched new tools for labelling video content created with artificial intelligence
The TikTok platform has introduced tools for tagging videos generated in whole or in part by artificial intelligence.
Here's What We Know
The decision follows the addition of AI filters and a generator of unique backgrounds to TikTok. Such effects will now be renamed with the addition of the word AI.
The labelling is not limited to TikTok-approved filters. It can be applied to any content created or significantly edited by artificial intelligence.
According to TikTok's new rules, videos with realistic AI content must be labelled accordingly. But this can be done not only with new tools, but also with captions or stickers.
In addition, TikTok is developing an algorithm for automatic labelling of AI content. The timing of its launch is not yet known.
The new tools were developed in conjunction with the company's security advisory boards, with input from industry and academic experts.
