Honda has launched tests of its electric robot truck Autonomous Work Vehicle (AWV) at Pearson Airport in Toronto.

Here's What We Know

The AWV is a truck that can travel autonomously or remotely with the help of a pilot. In March 2022, Honda announced the third generation of the drone with improved performance.

The company has now started testing the robot truck at the Toronto airport. Initially, the AWV will drive around the perimeter, checking fences and detecting violations using cameras and onboard artificial intelligence.

In the future, Honda is considering using the AWV for runway cleaning, transporting aircraft components and other tasks.

The trials are being conducted in conjunction with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.
