Brave launches its own anonymous AI chatbot called Leo

Internet security-focused browser Brave has unveiled a native AI assistant called Leo that "provides unprecedented privacy" compared to other chatbots.

Leo's basic functions aren't too different from other AI chatbots like Bing Chat and Google Bard. It can translate, answer questions, summarise web pages and generate new content.

However, Brave emphasises its focus on privacy. Conversations with Leo are not recorded and are not used for AI training. Registration is also not required.

By default, Leo is powered by Meta's Llama 2 model. Leo Premium subscription with Anthropic's Claude model, priority access, higher quality answers and new features is also available. It costs $15 per month.

Leo is already available on PC in Brave 1.60 and above. It will be coming to Android and iOS in the coming months.

The chatbot is designed as a free browser feature. But the company warns that Leo's responses may be inaccurate and advises users to treat them with caution.
