Google has unveiled a tool that will allow advertisers to create content using generative artificial intelligence.

The feature is available in the beta version of Google's Performance Max product. It enables US advertisers to generate text and image content for ad campaigns using AI, the company said.
Performance Max already uses AI capabilities to optimise ads across Google's various platforms, and the new feature complements it with content generation. Google said it will allow it to quickly create personalised, high-quality content.
Like other generative systems, it creates unique text and images based on user prompts. Marketers can check and edit generated content before publishing.
The system is in beta testing in the U.S., but it plans to be widely available by the end of 2023. The company has also implemented safeguards to prevent inappropriate or infringing content from being generated, and all images contain a visible watermark.
