Google may invest hundreds of millions of dollars in the startup Character.AI, specialising in chatbots with artificial intelligence. This became known from the information of sources.

According to sources, the investment may be in the form of convertible bonds. This will strengthen Character.AI's existing partnership with Google. The startup uses Google's cloud services and TPU to train its AI models.

Character.AI lets you create chatbots based on virtual characters and celebrities. The company positions its products as fun AI companions unlike other solutions like ChatGPT.
Character.AI previously raised $150 million in investment at a valuation of $1 billion. According to sources, it is now in talks for a new round that would increase the startup's valuation to $5 billion.
