Sam Altman has been fired from his position as CEO of OpenAI

OpenAI's board of directors abruptly fired the company's CEO, Sam Altman, saying he was "not forthright enough".
Here's What We Know
"[Mr. Altman] was not consistently candid in his communications with the board, hindering its ability to exercise its responsibilities. The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI", the release said
Altman confirmed his dismissal and said he would share his plans a little later.

Mira Murati has been appointed interim CEO. She previously served as CTO of OpenAI.
In addition, Greg Brockman was fired from the position of the company's president. He decided to leave OpenAI after Altman's ouster.
According to Brockman, the board's decision came as a surprise. Altman learned of the dismissal shortly before the public announcement.
