Discord service is discontinuing its artificial intelligence chatbot Clyde less than a year after its launch.
Here's What We Know
The Clyde support page has warned that the bot will be shut down at the end of this month. Discord announced Clyde in March as an experimental feature based on OpenAI technology.
"By December 1, 2023, users will no longer be able to invoke Clyde in DMs, Group DMs or server chats" the message reads.
Clyde was originally conceived as an AI assistant with whom you can chat for fun, ask to play games or make jokes.
However, this feature has not been widely adopted. Some users complained that they never got access to the bot on their servers. It was also discovered that Clyde can easily be made to utter foul words.
