Google has launched AI note-taking app NotebookLM in the US

Google has made its large language-based note-taking app NotebookLM openly available in the US.

Here's What We Know

Unlike general chatbots, NotebookLM works only with files from the user's personal storage. This allows it to generate recommendations that best suit his or her specific needs.

Google assures that personal data is not used in any way to train the AI. Therefore, private information from sources will remain hidden.

Along with the expanded access, the company announced a number of additional NotebookLM features:

• automatic creation of newsletters, scripts and marketing plans;
• exporting notes to Google Docs;
• the ability to focus on specific sources;
• intelligent recommendations based on selected text.

The developers envision this will help users move more quickly from gathering information to writing their own content.
