Getty Images and NVIDIA launch AI-powered stock photo generation service

Getty Images, in partnership with NVIDIA, has unveiled Generative AI by iStock, a new platform for generating stock images based on textual cues using artificial intelligence technology.

Here's What We Know

The platform is an evolution of the previously announced Generative Getty Images service, but Generative AI by iStock is focused specifically on creating photos for stock libraries. The platform is based on the Picasso model from NVIDIA and trained exclusively on images from Getty and iStock catalogues.

According to the developers, the new AI tool will help improve the efficiency of freelancers and small businesses when selecting stock photos, allowing them to instantly generate unique images by text description.

The price to use the service will be $14.99 for 100 prompts, each generating 4 images. There will also soon be features to retouch photos and expand their original frame using AI.

Copyright holders of images used for training will be able to earn a percentage of the platform's revenue.
