Artificial intelligence took centre stage at this year's World Economic Forum in Davos, pushing cryptocurrencies aside. A number of major tech companies are actively promoting their AI developments.

Here's What We Know

According to experts, such close attention to artificial intelligence reflects the rapid growth of investment and interest in AI in 2023 amid the popularity of OpenAI's ChatGPT chatbot. Corporations are actively competing for leadership in this fast-growing high-tech market.

A number of companies specialising in AI are represented on the forum floor, including Intel, Salesforce and Swisscom. Various events and discussions focus specifically on AI technologies.

At the same time, the presence of cryptocurrency companies has noticeably decreased compared to previous years amid the cryptozyme and market crash in 2023. Nevertheless, industry representatives see this as a sign that blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies are becoming mainstream and interest has stabilised.

According to PitchBook, AI startups attracted nearly six times more investment than cryptocurrency and Web3 companies in the third quarter of 2022. And NVIDIA's stock, which is closely tied to AI developments, has risen 239 per cent over the year, demonstrating the tremendous investor interest.

Thus, the topic of artificial intelligence has fully captured the attention of participants and guests of the Davos Forum in 2024, reflecting global trends in innovation.
