The explicit deepfakes of the singer Taylor Swift, created with the help of artificial intelligence technology, have circulated on social network X.

Here's What We Know

Viral images of nude Swift in sexual poses gained more than 27 million views and 260,000 likes in 19 hours, after which the account that published the fakes was blocked.

Experts at Reality Defender noted the high probability that the scandalous images were generated with the help of AI.

The most widespread were the fakes, where Swift is depicted at a football stadium. Experts attribute this to the singer's recent online harassment for supporting her partner, Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, by attending NFL games.

Although X's rules prohibit deepfake content depicting specific people, moderators were slow to remove the images. It was only after massive complaints from Swift fans that the most popular deepfakes were blocked.

Human rights activists insist that social media and tech companies should be more proactive in using AI tools to identify non-consensual and malicious content like Swift's deepfakes.
