There will be no Meizu 22 and Meizu 23: Meizu is discontinuing traditional smartphones and switching completely to AI-powered designs
Meizu made an important announcement today: the company is discontinuing the development and production of traditional smartphones.
Here's What We Know
In Meizu believes that the modern market is now stagnant. Therefore, the company sees no prospects in traditional phones and completely gives up on them. To be honest, this news was not a complete surprise, since recently Meizu began to release smartphones less and less often, and they were not hugely popular.
The current projects namely Meizu 21 PRO, Meizu 22 and Meizu 23 have been completely stopped despite being in various stages of development.
At the same time, the company promises to continue supporting already released smartphones and assures that existing services and products (Flyme OS, Flyme Auto, Flyme AR, etc.) will remain unchanged.
So what will the manufacturer do now? Meizu will focus on artificial intelligence technologies, in which it sees the future. What it will be - it is not clear yet, but the company plans to present its first device with AI already this year. It also plans to release improved gadgets with AI in 2025 and 2026.
