Google announces expansion of "Help Me Write" feature
Here's What We Know
Google has announced an extension to Help Me Write, a generative artificial intelligence feature that is now available to users in the Google Chrome web browser. This feature, previously limited to selected apps and Google Workspace subscriptions, is now available to everyone in Chrome M122.
Now anyone using the web can use "Help me write" in any text box to get instant writing help. This feature uses the context of the web page to provide more specific and tailored recommendations for users.
For example, a user can use Help Me Write to quickly create a product return request or to compose an email. Such an innovation can save a lot of time, especially in situations where speed and accuracy are essential.
However, it is important to note that generative AI is not flawless and can make mistakes. Therefore, in situations where accuracy is crucial, users are advised to use their own writing skills.
The Help Me Write feature is already available to users in the US in English in Chrome M122 for macOS and Windows. It is experimental, so consumers will need to manually enable it in their browser settings.
How to Use
Simply right-click on any text box on a website in Chrome and select "Help Me Write."
