OnePlus admits inappropriate advertising and promises to fix the situation
Popular smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has issued a statement regarding inconsistencies in their advertising and product specifications. Several marketing missteps have led to outrage among fans of the brand who felt misled.
Here's What We Know
One of the problems was the misrepresentation of the technical details of the storage in the OnePlus 12R. The initial specification claimed to use a UFS 4.0 drive, but in fact, it was UFS 3.1. Representatives of the company acknowledged this mistake and apologised to consumers for the misstatement.
In addition, the previously advertised Dual SIM Dual Active functionality for the US version of OnePlus 12 was also unavailable. This information was removed from the manufacturer's website after the feature was previously announced to be supported. Company representatives confirmed that this device is not a DSDA device.
The Indian version of the OnePlus 12 was not able to support eSIM, as previously advertised. The company is currently working on resolving this issue, but the exact timing and possible reasons for the lack of this feature remain unknown.
