Lucid Air Sapphire: a Tesla Model S Plaid competitor with a 100 km/h acceleration in less than 2 seconds, 1200+ hp, and a price $250,000
American electric car manufacturer Lucid has unveiled a new electric sports sedan.
What we know
The novelty is named Lucid Air Sapphire. That is a special version of the usual Lucid Air. The car boasts a new coloring, body kit and "stuffing".
Sapphire is equipped with a tri-motor powerhouse with a capacity of over 1200 hp. It can accelerate the car up to 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds. Up to 160 km/h - in 4 seconds. The new car also got stiffer and lower springs, carbon-ceramic brakes, 20-inch wheels at the front, 21-inch at the back and Michelin PS4S tires. The Lucid Air Sapphire has a different setup, new ABS module, traction control, upgraded power steering, and a more powerful battery with improved heat distribution.
When to expect
The Lucid Air Sapphire will compete with the Tesla Model S Plaid and will hit the market in the first half of 2023. The car will cost $250,000.
