Here's What We Know
The smartphone can switch between Web2 mode (the standard Android operating system installed on most smartphones) and Web3 mode. The latter serves to store cryptocurrency and create NFTs: with just one click you can turn photos and videos into NFTs. There is also a cryptocurrency wallet, an encrypted instant messaging app, access to 10 terabytes of distributed storage in IPFS, a VOS app for using the phone as a node in the Ethereum blockchain, and access to a 24-hour Vertu concierge service with guidance for newbies and advice on what upcoming collections are worth buying.
Key features of the Metavertu include a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 2400×1080 resolution, ceramic bezel, protective sapphire crystal, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, triple camera and a 4600 mAh battery.
The entry-level model comes with a carbon fiber finish, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of internal storage and costs $3600. The top-end and most expensive version gets 18GB of RAM, 1TB of ROM, and is trimmed in "Himalayan alligator leather" with 18-carat gold and diamonds. It costs $41,000. Sales will start on November 3.
