Fairphone 4 modular smartphone debuted in the US, but without the Android operating system

Fairphone unveiled the Fairphone 4 smartphone in Europe in 2021, and has now launched the novelty in the US market.

Here's What We Know

The gadget has made its debut in the US. Distribution of the device is handled by Murena, a company that specialises in "de-googling" Android devices. Therefore, the novelty does not come with Android, but with the /e/OS system. It is focused on privacy. It has no Google services, including the Play Store. Instead, it has the proprietary Murena Cloud app shop. It offers a downloadable email client, calendar, cloud storage services and more. Each app has its own privacy rating.

In terms of specifications, the Fairphone 4 is equipped with a 6.83" panel with an IPS FHD+ matrix. It's covered by fifth-generation Gorilla Glass. A 25 MP front camera (Sony IMX576) with f/2.2 aperture is mounted in the teardrop-shaped notch. The main camera has a resolution of 48 MP + 48 MP. The novelty is powered by the Snapdragon 750G chip. The gadget also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, USB-C, 5G, NFC and a fingerprint sensor on the right end.

Price & When We Can Expect It

The Murena Fairphone 4 is already available to buy in the US. The novelty costs from $629.
