LEGO has unveiled a $200 model of the Concorde supersonic passenger aircraft
LEGO has announced the Concorde constructor. Buy a model of supersonic passenger aircraft will be available in early autumn.
Here's What We Know
The constructor consists of 2083 parts. The assembled aircraft has a length of 105 centimetres, wingspan of 43 centimetres and height of 15 centimetres. The mechanism of landing gear extension is triggered by turning the tail.
The designer will be available for purchase from 7 September this year. LEGO has priced the Concorde model at $200.
Concorde is one of two passenger supersonic aircraft (the other is the Tu-144). It made its first flight in March 1969 and its last flight in November 2003. At the time of its entry into service, the aircraft cost nearly $50 million.
The powerplant is represented by four Rolls-Royce engines. The maximum thrust is 140 kN and afterburner thrust is 169 kN. Concorde could reach speeds of up to 2,500 km/h and had a cruising speed of 2,300 km/h.
