Samsung has announced a competitor to Apple's Studio Display in the US.

We are talking about the Samsung ViewFinity S9 monitor. It was shown in South Korea in January this year. The device is already available for pre-order in the US for $715.00 $1,599.99, -55% Sales of the monitor will start next week - August 28.

The Samsung ViewFinity S9 has a 27-inch display with a resolution of 5120×2880 pixels and a DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage of 99%. The panel has been given a matte finish as well as a built-in colour calibration mechanism. It can be customised via Samsung's proprietary Smart Calibration smartphone app. The device comes with a 4K SlimFit webcam as well as Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, DisplayPort and HDMI ports. The monitor can be used to charge laptops with up to 96W of power. Samsung ViewFinity S9 runs on the Tizen TV OS operating system.
