TCL has unveiled its first smartphones with NxtPaper vision protection technology - TCL 40 NxtPaper and TCL 40 NxtPaper 5G

TCL introduced NxtPaper image technology a few years ago. Screens with this technology are designed to reduce glare, reduce negative impact on vision and provide comfort to the eyes, while maintaining bright colours. So far, the company has only a few gadgets with this technology: three tablets and one laptop-transformer. However, today TCL introduced TCL 40 NxtPaper and TCL 40 NxtPaper 5G - the first smartphones with NxtPaper technology.

TCL 40 NxtPaper

The smartphone features a 6.78-inch LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. It has a special e-book mode that uses grey shades to reduce eye strain while reading. The gadget can even be used as a notepad using an optional case with a T-Pen stylus.

The novelty also received a Helio G88 processor, 8 GB of RAM (expandable with virtual memory up to 8 GB), 256 GB of internal memory, a 5010 mAh battery with 33 W fast charging support, stereo speakers and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

There is a 32 MP front-facing camera for selfies. The triple main camera includes a 50 MP module, a 5 MP "shirik" and a 2 MP macro module.

TCL 40 NxtPaper 5G

As the name suggests, this is a smartphone with 5G support. But it differs from TCL 40 NxtPaper not only by this. It comes with a smaller 6.6-inch screen with HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate, Dimensity 6020 processor, 6GB RAM (+6GB virtual memory) and a 5,000mAh battery with 15W charging support.

The triple main camera consists of a 50 MP sensor, a 2 MP lens for shooting macro and a 2 MP depth sensor. The front camera counts only 8 MP. Also, there are no stereo speakers (only one speaker) and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Here's What It Costs

The TCL 40 NxtPaper costs 200 euros ($215) and will be available in Europe next month. The TCL 40 NxtPaper 5G has been priced at 250 euros ($270). It will go on sale in October.
