Dell Latitude 7030 Rugged Extreme: a rugged tablet that can withstand water, dirt, 1.2-metre drops and temperatures up to +63℃
Dell has unveiled its new Latitude 7030 Rugged Extreme rugged tablet, which it calls the world's lightest 10-inch fully rugged Windows tablet.
Here's What We've Seen
First and foremost, it's a rugged gadget with a solid body, IP65 water and dust resistance and MIL-STD 810 military standard protection. According to the manufacturer, it can withstand drops from a height of about 1.2 metres and can operate in temperatures ranging from -7℃ to +63℃. The tablet is designed for first responders and other professionals who work in extreme environments.
The Dell Latitude 7030 Rugged Extreme features a 10-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels, Corning Gorilla Glass protection and a brightness of 1000 nits. The touchscreen can work in water, recognises finger taps while wearing gloves and supports the Dell Rugged Active Pen stylus and Rugged 7030 Tablet Premium keyboard, which are sold separately.
There are several versions to choose from with 12th-generation Intel processors (Core i3-1210U, Core i5-12400U or Core i7-1260U), 8GB to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage.
Dell will release the Latitude 7030 Rugged EXtreme later this year, and pricing will be known closer to the start of shipments.
