Samsung has unveiled Gauss, the artificial intelligence that will get the Galaxy S24 flagships

Samsung unveiled Samsung Gauss, its generative artificial intelligence, at the Samsung AI Forum event.

The model includes three elements: the Samsung Gauss Language, Samsung Gauss Code, and Samsung Gauss Image. Samsung Gauss Language is a generative language model that can compose emails, summarise documents and translate content. Samsung Gauss Code uses code.i, a coding assistant that allows developers to quickly and easily write code, perform code description and generate test cases. And Samsung Gauss Image is a generative image model that allows you to create and edit images, change their style and even increase their resolution.

Samsung Gauss Artificial Intelligence will be used by future flagship smartphones in the Galaxy S24 lineup, which is set to debut in January 2024. The company adds that Gauss is already being used by Samsung employees to improve productivity.

Incidentally, the Samsung Gauss AI is named after Carl Friedrich Gauss, a famous mathematician who created the theory of normal distribution (Gaussian process), which is considered the foundation of artificial intelligence.
