realme V50: budget smartphone with MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus chip and 120Hz display for $165

The company realme unexpectedly announced in China a new budget smartphone.

Here's What We Know

The novelty was named realme V50. The gadget received a 6.72-inch LCD display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 680 nits. The panel has an FHD+ resolution.

The realme V50 comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus 5G processor. The chip is paired with 6/8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage. The smartphone comes with a 5000mAh battery, side scanner, microSD slot, main dual camera with 13 MP main sensor and 8 MP front camera. Out of the box, the gadget runs Android 13 operating system and realme UI 4.0 shell.

Price & When We Can Expect It

The realme V50 is already available for purchase in China. The base 6/128GB model costs $165, while the top-of-the-line 8/256GB model costs $195. The smartphone is available in two colours, Purple Dawn and Midnight Black. Incidentally, realme today also revealed the realme V50s with the same specs. The device will be sold at carriers.
