Uber Eats will feature short TikTok-like videos to help users better choose the restaurant they want to order from
Uber Eats is launching its own platform with short videos to improve restaurant discovery: currently being tested in key cities such as New York and San Francisco, but will be rolled out globally.
Here's What We Know
The videos can be accessed via carousels in the app, offering users a glimpse into the restaurant's kitchen and giving users a more detailed view of the dishes it offers, including portion sizes, ingredients and cooking process. Preliminary data shows that users are more likely to try new dishes.
In addition to enriching the user experience, Uber Eats is committed to supporting its merchants. The company has updated its Uber Eats Manager software, providing customised growth recommendations to help restaurants expand their business. Additionally, a new app for restaurant managers is on the horizon that will allow them to manage operations remotely.
