Apple AirPods Pro 2: Earphones with improved noise cancellation, speaker case and up to 30 hours of battery life for $250
Along with the smartwatch and smartphones, Apple also debuted its 2nd generation AirPods Pro wireless earbuds at today's Apple presentation.
What's Improved?
Externally, the new model is almost the same as the old one, i.e. there are no shortened "legs", which were rumored. But Apple has worked on the "stuffing", functions and battery life.
Thus, AirPods Pro 2 are equipped with an upgraded chip H2, which provides 2 times more effective active noise cancellation. At the same time, the "transparent" mode has become more adaptive and tweaks the volume depending on the surrounding noise. For example, if you are at the construction site - the headphones will make the sounds quieter.
Another trick was the personalization of Spatial audio (spatial sound). With LiDAR on the iPhone you can measure the shape and size of your head and ears, and as a result the sound will be adapted exactly to these parameters.
But still much more important is battery life. The Apple AirPods Pro 2 have it increased to 6 hours, or 30 hours using a charging case. For comparison, the original AirPods Pro worked maximum for 24 hours on a single charge.
By the way, the case itself was also updated - it got a built-in speaker and a loop for the strap. Thanks to this the case supports Find My.
In addition to the three standard sizes, they added the smallest silicone ear cushions - XS.
How Much Do They Cost?
Apple AirPods Pro 2 will cost $249. They will be available for pre-order this Friday, September 9, and will go on sale September 23.
