The very first iPhone, released by Apple back in 2007, was sold at an RR Auction.
Here's What It Costs
The owner of the smartphone is a former Apple employee who bought the gadget immediately after its launch in 2007. However, he never used it as the company provided him with another iPhone. The smartphone remained unopened, in its original packaging. The seller had added an AT&T bag and a leaflet about the plans and activation of the iPhone, which he received at the time of purchase.
The new-aged iPhone sold at auction for $54,904. That's 91 times the $599 amount - which is how much the gadget cost at the time.
But it's not a record at all. In February, an original sealed iPhone was auctioned off for more than $63,000.
