ASUS Zenfone 10 could be the last smartphone in the Zenfone line-up
Just a couple of months ago, ASUS Zenfone 10 - Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, compact 144Hz display, 50MP camera with 6-axis stabilisation and Android 13 from €799. This series is known for producing compact (relatively) flagships with a screen diagonal of around 6 inches, which is a rarity these days. However, according to a new report, ASUS has decided to shut down the Zenfone lineup.
Here's What We Know
Taiwanese media is reporting that ASUS is undertaking an "organisational restructuring" that will see it reduce the number of employees in its PC division in Taiwan and China. An internal company email stated that many employees were planned to be transferred to the mobile phone divisions, split into Zenfone and ROG Phone, but were laid off instead.
The source also claims that the Zenfone 10 will be the latest member of the Zenfone lineup, which has been around since 2014.
"The person familiar with the matter pointed out that ASUS mobile phones are divided into ROG and Zenfone series, but now the latest Zenfone 10 will be the last generation of this series, and the Zenfone team will be merged into other departments in the future, or directly into the ROG team", the report said.
ASUS is yet to comment on the information.
