The Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down a Russian Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopter worth $16m using a man-portable surface-to-air missile system

The Ukrainian Defence Forces have eliminated another military helicopter of the Russian army. This is reported by the 47th separate mechanised brigade.

The brigade's fighters shot down the Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopter using a man-portable surface-to-air missile system. The $16 million iron bird was destroyed in southern Ukraine's Zaporizhzhay region.

Russian media confirmed the loss of the helicopter. Which surface-to-air missile system was used to defeat the Ka-52 has not yet been specified. However, it is known that the 47th Brigade has Swedish RBS 70 systems in service.
