Ukraine may receive Dutch F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters in 6 to 8 months
Last week, the Netherlands officially announced that it would transfer F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets to Ukraine. Now the approximate terms of the aircraft deliveries have appeared.
Here's What We Know
Dutch Defence Minister Kajsa Ollongren gave an interview to Eurointegration in which she said that the delivery of the planes is unlikely to take place this year. If everything goes according to plan, the planes could be delivered to Ukraine in six to eight months.
Certain conditions must be met for the transfer of the fighter jets. For example, Ukrainian pilots must fully complete a training programme on the use, operation and maintenance of the aircraft. Also, Ukraine must prepare airfields and then get permission from the US.
By the way, apart from the Netherlands, Ukraine will receive F-16 Fighting Falcon from Denmark and Norway.
