16 Ukrainian drones launched a massive strike on an airfield in Russia - hitting four Su-30 fighter jets, one MiG-29, two Pantsir-S1 air defence systems and S-300 radars

The Ukrainian Defence Forces have launched a massive strike on an airfield in Kursk Region. This was reported by the RBC-Ukraine news agency with reference to sources in the Security Service.

Here's What We Know

The strike was carried out by kamikaze drones on the night of 27 August 2023. The fact of the attack is confirmed by Russian media. Russian fighter jets and air defence systems are stationed at the airfield in the Kursk region.

It is reported that the airfield was attacked by 16 drones, of which almost all hit the target. Russian air defences were only able to intercept three drones.

The Ukrainian Security Service's kamikaze drones hit four Su-30 fighter jets, one MiG-29 and two Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and cannon systems. The radars of the S-300 air defence system were also hit.

The extent of damage to Russian military equipment is not specified.
