Russia has officially confirmed that a Ukrainian Tu-141 drone modified into a missile, damaged 3 Tu-22M3 strategic bomber-missile carriers
New information about a strike on the Dyagilevo airfield in Russia has resurfaced today. The details of the attack were revealed by Russian media after studying materials from the Ministry of Defence and counterintelligence of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.
Here's What We Know
The Dyagilevo airfield was attacked in December 2022. The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence recently officially confirmed the use of a Tu-141 Strizh unmanned aerial vehicle that had been modified into a missile.
It was initially reported that Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 strategic bombers were damaged. They are used to launch Kh-101 / Kh-555 and Kh-22 missiles respectively. According to new information, the Tu-141 damaged three Tu-22M3 bomber-missile carriers and the Kh-32 cruise missile, which has a launch range of 1,000 kilometres.
The Russians also wrote about an attack on the Shaikovka airfield in October 2022. A UJ-22 Airborne drone exploded at a height of 10 metres, but the planes were not damaged. Tu-22M3 bombers were also based here.
