Russian Air and Space Forces allegedly received a new batch of unmodernised Su-57 fifth-generation fighters

Another batch of Su-57 aircraft was allegedly handed over to the Russian Aerospace Forces. This was reported by the Russian government.

Here's What We Know

The Komsomolsk-on-Amur aircraft plant of the United Aircraft Corporation has allegedly handed over a batch of fifth-generation Su-57 fighters to a customer. The company claims that the deliveries are taking place within the framework of this year's state defence order.

The number of aircraft handed over is not specified. In addition, the Russians have not shown any photos. However, a press release from the Russian government indicates that the Aerospace Forces will receive another batch of fifth-generation fighters by the end of this year. They are now at the final assembly stage. This will be the third batch in 2023.

It should be noted that deliveries of the old version of the aircraft are now underway. The current contract provides for the construction of modernised Su-57 fighters equipped with sixth-generation engines. However, deliveries will start before 2027. But it is not certain

Along with the Su-57, the United Aircraft Corporation handed over the Su-35S fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces. They are positioned as generation 4++ aircraft. Another batch will be delivered before the end of the year.
