Pratt & Whitney has received a new contract to support the production of F135 engines for F-35 Lightning II fighter jets. This is reported on the official website of the US Department of Defence.

The amount of the agreement was $163.26 million. The contract will allow Pratt & Whitney to purchase parts, power modules and test equipment to support the production of the 17th batch of F135 engines for the F-35 Lightning II.
At the end of 2022, Lockheed Martin signed an agreement worth up to $30bn to deliver up to 398 fifth-generation fighters for the US and allies. The agreement guaranteed production of 272 aircraft under Lot 15-16 orders and included an option for 126 fighters in Lot 17.
Pratt & Whitney's deal with the US Department of Defence runs until December 2025. About half of all work under the contract will take place at the company's plants in Connecticut, Indiana, Maine and California.
