Here's What We Know
Lockheed Martin announced the opening of the training centre on its official website. The manufacturer of the F-16 Fighting Falcon said it will provide maintenance services and send instructors to Romania.
As for the fourth-generation fighters, the donor was the Royal Netherlands Air Force. The European country's military service sent the first batch of F-16 Fighting Falcon to the training centre a few days ago.
The F-16 is one of the most widely used aircraft at the moment and a valuable choice for customers. More than 3,100 fighters are in service in 25 countries around the world. The Fighting Falcon has flown at least 13 million hours of combat sorties.
Lockheed Martin is now working on the F-16 in Block 70/72 configuration. The Viper upgrade provides unprecedented capabilities. So far, the company has received orders for the Block 70/72 from six countries. By the way, the Netherlands has sent a Block 20 MLU version to Romania, which matches the Block 50/52 level with its capabilities.
