Bitcoin reached a new record, surpassing $70,000
Bitcoin, the world's leading cryptocurrency, has reached a new all-time high, surpassing the $70,0001 mark. This is the first time bitcoin has exceeded this mark, sparking a wave of interest among investors and cryptocurrency enthusiasts.
In very choppy trading, bitcoin briefly rose to a record high of $70.1051. However, despite this historic rise, it quickly fell to $68,317.72 after just a few hours.
According to Reuters, over the past few weeks, billions of dollars have been invested in an exchange traded fund (ETF). The market is also getting support from a forecast that sees an upgrade to the Ethereum blockchain platform. This is the foundation of ether, the second largest cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin was created in 2009 by an unknown person or group of people under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. Since then, bitcoin has experienced both significant volatility, but has also shown remarkable resilience.
Bitcoin's recent rise to $70,000 marks a significant milestone in the evolution of digital currencies and reflects the growing acceptance and adoption of cryptocurrencies around the world.
