Foxconn's main iPhone plant will be able to fully resume production only by late December - early January

Due to strict restrictions in China due to the coronavirus pandemic and employee protests at the Foxconn plant in Zhengzhou, problems with the production of smartphones for Apple continue. But Reuters, citing Foxconn representatives, writes that the situation has already stabilized.

Here's What We Know

Foxconn is expected to resume production at full capacity at its main iPhone assembly plant around the end of December or early January.

"The local government is actively helping with the resumption. The capacity is now being gradually resumed with new staff hiring under way. If the recruitment goes smoothly, it could take around three to four weeks to resume full production"at full capacity," the source assures.

The company has now begun hiring new employees and is gradually restoring production capacity to normal.

The Zhengzhou plant is Foxconn's largest iPhone manufacturing plant, which employs about 200,000 people. Foxconn is responsible for assembling about 70 percent of the iPhones that Apple sells.
