Apple couldn't do it - the Chinese did: fake AirPods with an OLED display case have been created

Apple registers a lot of patents, most of which will never see the light of day as consumer products. But there are some interesting ideas. For example, a few years ago the company patented wireless headphones with a display built into the charging case. Such AirPods never came out, but the Chinese successfully copied the idea.

Here's What We've Seen

A user of social network X (Twitter) showed photos and videos of production units of fake AirPods with an OLED touchscreen embedded in the front of the case.

The display is activated when the lid of the case is opened. You can use it to control playback, noise cancellation, EQ settings and Find My. The display also shows the time and battery level.
