The next major Windows update will be released in 2024, it could be Windows 12

Windows Central has found out when Microsoft plans to release the next major update to the Windows operating system.

When to expect

So, according to the report, Microsoft is switching to a three-year update cycle. That is, the next major version of the system should be released in 2024. What will be the name of the OS is not known yet, but presumably we are talking about Windows 12.

As for the current OS Windows 11, the company plans to increase the intensity of the release of new features for users through the introduction of technology "Moments" (internal name). It allows engineers to adapt new features faster without updating the OS itself. By the way, right now Microsoft developers are preparing Windows 11 update codenamed Sun Valley 3. It should be released in 2023.
