Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple will start releasing AirPods with USB-C in 2023
Apple plans to switch its AirPods earbuds from Lightning to USB-C next year.
What we know
This was reported by Chinese analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. According to Kuo, we are not talking about new earphones. Apple will simply replace the port in the cases for the current line of AirPods.
I predict Apple will launch USB-C-capable charging cases for all AirPods models in 2023. However, the charging case of the new AirPods Pro 2 launched in 2H22 may still support Lightning.

By the way, the analyst also said that the new AirPods Pro, due to be shown in fall, will still come with a Lightning port.
Recall, according to rumors, AirPods Pro 2 will not differ from the current model externally. The earphones will get a vacuum design with a foot. Under the hood of the device there will be installed updated chip H1. Thanks to it the sound and the ANC system will be improved. As for the case, it will be equipped with a speaker, a hole for the lanyard and the Find My function. The earphones should support fast charging.
