Rumour: Apple launches mass-produced wired EarPods with USB-C ahead of iPhone 15 release
Insider ShrimpApplePro reports that Apple is not only preparing new iPhone 15 smartphones for autumn, but something else as well - updated wired EarPods.
Here's What We Know
EarPods aren't new to the company's range for a long time, but now the headphones will feature a USB-C port instead of Lightning. This is due to the fact that other Apple gadgets are moving to USB-C as well, so the headphones need to match them.
According to the source, the upgraded EarPods have already gone into mass production and will be ready for the iPhone 15 launch in the fall.
EarPods headphones have become less popular since Apple launched the wireless AirPods in 2016 and removed the 3.5mm headphone jack on the iPhone. They also don't come with smartphones, but are still in demand thanks to their low cost and ease of use.
