Rumour: Apple to bring back vertical camera for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus

Following an image of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, some details about the base models of the iPhone 16 have also emerged online.

Here's What We Know

According to insider @URedditor, Apple engineers are testing prototypes of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus with a vertical camera placement, as it was in the iPhone 12. In comparison, the current models have horizontal modules. The insider believes that this change will make the devices more recognisable.

The base model iPhone 16 will have a vertical camera layout, as opposed to diagonal on iPhone 15. This will make the device instantly recognizable as the latest model.

Currently, an iPhone 12-style design is in testing, though there is another design as well, same layout.

By the way, according to previous leaks, Phone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will still get higher refresh rate displays, camera update and new processor. The novelties will be released in the fall of 2024.
