A USB-C cable with data transfer speeds of up to 40Gbps will be available for the iPhone 15 Pro, but Apple will sell it separately

This year, Apple will switch its smartphones from its proprietary Lightning port to the universal USB-C port for the first time. However, there is still some debate about what data transfer speeds they will support.

Earlier in social networks were published photos of braided cables that will be included in the delivery of models of the iPhone 15 line. According to an insider, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will get USB-C cables that will be limited to USB 2.0 data transfer speeds of 480 MB/s, which corresponds to the speed of Lightning.

As for the top-end iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models, they are expected to support "at least" USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3.

However, an insider with the nickname Kosutami assures that cables with USB4 Gen2 and Thunderbolt support with data transfer speeds of up to 40Gbps will be available for the Pro versions. But there is one nuance: they will be sold separately and will not be included in the base package.

The length of the cord is 80cm. It also supports fast charging up to 150W. However, this does not necessarily mean that iPhone 15 Pro smartphones will be able to charge at this speed.
