Analyst: Apple will update all iPad models next year, including the OLED iPad Pro and the 12.9-inch iPad Air
Apple didn't update any iPad tablet models for the first time this year. But analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is confident that the company will catch up next year.
Here's What We Know
According to the analyst, Apple will update all of its iPads from basic to top-of-the-line models in 2024. Two versions of the iPad Air should debut in the first quarter: an update to the existing 10.9-inch size and a new model with a 12.9-inch screen. Otherwise, the iPad Air will still use LCD displays, but will get a new processor to boost performance.
A new generation of iPad Pro is expected in the second quarter. The main innovations will be an updated body, M3 processor and an OLED display instead of mini-LED.
In the second half of the year (most likely in autumn) Apple will present iPad mini and the 11th generation of the basic iPad. The cheapest iPad on sale, the iPad (9th generation), will be finally phased out by the end of 2024. This will complete the transition to the Lighting port of the iPad lineup.
