Rumour: iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Plus will get ProMotion displays with Always-On functionality
Apple plans to dramatically change the displays in its base iPhone models next year.
Here's What We Know
The information was shared by the Korean edition of The Elec. According to the report, Apple wants to install in the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Plus screens from the top models. That is, we are talking about LTPO OLED panels with ProMotion technology. Gadgets will support adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. In addition, the new products will receive Always-on technology.
The supplier of screens should be the Chinese company BOE. It has already sent samples of panels to Apple for testing. By the way, Apple originally wanted to install such displays in iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, but because the BOE screens did not meet Apple standards, the company decided to postpone the idea for a year.
