Rumour: iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max smartphones will get a new polished titanium finish
One of the major design changes to last year's iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max was the addition of a titanium frame. This year, Apple will continue to use titanium, but will change the manufacturing process slightly.
Here's What We Know
According to a new leak from Korea, Apple will use an improved titanium finishing and colouring process. More specifically, the titanium frame will be polished, giving it a glossy appearance.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max have a titanium frame with a matte finish. Apparently, Apple believes that the shiny frame will make the smartphone design more attractive.
This process is definitely not new: previously Apple used polished steel in the production of iPhone Pro models from 12 to 14 generations. However, users often criticised it: such a surface is unpleasantly slippery in the hands, collects fingerprints and scratches quickly and easily. In turn, the matte frame did not encounter such problems.
